Project Sequoia of the Sea
We want to grow more kelp …lots more kelp. It sequesters 20x more CO2 , acre for acre, compared to trees. If left to fall to the seabed after leaves dies the carbon is trapped, unlike trees that may be harvested for biomass. Other benefits are that it is a nursery for fish, a habitat for shell fish , it de-acidifies the ocean and protects the shore from storms and erosion. We are looking at getting this going during 2020, please join us if you are interested. We need people to do paper-work, network, swim and marine scientists. |
